Grant History

Over the years the emphasis of the Company’s activity has changed from the control of the trade of haberdashery in the City of London to administering the charitable foundations established through donations and bequests made by members of the Company.

Four educational foundations support the Company’s eleven schools. In addition, there are three main grant-making foundations, through which donations and grants totalling £1,154,938 were made in the year to June 2016. Of this, 230 grants, with a value of £632,917 were given mainly to young people, mostly pupils and former pupils of Haberdasher schools, mainly for educational purposes; and 92 donations, valued at £522,021 were given to charities.  Support was also provided for the Company’s parishes and schools.
