The Sports Festival is not just about winning games; it is about building character, forging connections, and enriching the Habs student community. Through taking part students learn essential life skills such as discipline, communication, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. These skills are also invaluable in personal and professional settings, helping students grow beyond the pitch.

During the day, individuals were awarded either a Spirt or an Honour Award in different categories. The Spirit prize was awarded for going above and beyond what is expected through supporting and lifting up others, whilst the Honour prize was given out for acting with integrity. Winners in both categories were selected for showing strong examples of solidarity, dedication, participation.

The number of Honour and Spirit awards were tracked and those who achieved the highest number of these on an individual basis were celebrated as they were linked with the highest scores for their school overall.

Warm congratulations go to the overall winners of the day, Haberdashers’ Monmouth School.

She is now a trainee solicitor, completing her first seat in commercial Real Estate, with a passion for giving back and supporting others into her industry.

This #BlackHistoryMonth, she shares with us in her own words, why inspiring the next generation of Haberdasher lawyers is so important to her and how she's going about doing it through her membership to the Haberdashers' Company.

Double celebrations as Haberdashers' Elstree Schoo Double celebrations as Haberdashers' Elstree Schools are recognised for not one, but two prestigious awards.

We are pleased to shared that @habsboysschool and @habsgirlsschool have been selected as a Finalist in the Independent School of the Year for Outstanding Educational Partnerships category.

Habs Elstree are extremely proud of the work that their Partnerships team carry out to support the wider community. Closing the gap, working together and giving back, are values that are built into the DNA of the Haberdashers’ Company and all of our 16 Haberdasher schools. Partnership for mutual enrichment, and the meaningful and tangible impact this has on all students lives, is a cornerstone of how Haberdashers do things.

The power of collaboration is felt deeply across all four Haberdasher school groups and the judges were impressed by the evidently positive sharing of best practice and shared values across the school sectors.

In addition, the Telegraph paper has rated Habs Girls and Habs Boys as ‘very good’ in their latest review of best value private schools in the UK.

Huge congratulations to the entire team at Elstree!

On Tuesday 7 October 2025, the Master, Alderman Si On Tuesday 7 October 2025, the Master, Alderman Sir William Russell, signed the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise by the nation, ensuring that those who serve, or have served in the Armed Forces and their families are treated fairly. It recognises the unique obligations and sacrifices, made by the Armed Forces at home and overseas.

The Haberdashers’ Company is extremely proud of its long-standing military affiliations with HMS St Albans, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, Number 17 Company Coldstream Guards, 7th Battalion The Rifles and IX (Bomber) Squadron RAF.

The Master was especially delighted to welcome the Lady Mayoress, Florence King, herself an Army Reservist, to witness the signing along with representatives of the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment, 7th Battalion The Rifles and IX (Bomber) Squadron RAF.

Last Thursday we were delighted to welcome our Liv Last Thursday we were delighted to welcome our Livery and City neighbours to our Habs Aspire External Partners Reception at Haberdashers' Hall.

We were thrilled to share an inspiring evening filled with powerful stories from current mentors and mentees, who spoke so movingly about their experiences of the programme so far.

Huge thanks to those who came - your presence helped make it a meaningful success and we left feeling newly energised by your support, as well as hopeful about the impact mentoring can have on transforming more young people’s lives.

As we look ahead, we will continue the conversation about how partners can support this initiative, whether by encouraging your employees, friends and family, or members to become sixth form mentors, or by helping us spread the word, as well as becoming a mentor yourself.

To find out more and sign up as a mentor, here's our website: https://haberdashers-aspire.org.uk/

We’re excited about the possibilities and would be thrilled to explore how we can work together to make a lasting difference.

The new school year is firmly underway and we kick The new school year is firmly underway and we kicked off the Haberdashers' Advantage: Working Together programme with the annual Governors' Symposium last week.

The conference, held at 10 Union Street, facilitated a fantastic day of cross-collaboration and shared ethos. Very strong feedback was received after the event from attendees, supported by a high response rate to the follow-up survey. Participants described the event as informative, engaging, and thought-provoking, while also valuing the warm and professional atmosphere. Many emphasised the event challenged thinking and encouraged reflection. We were particularly pleased to receive a 4.59 out of 5 rating for the question: "I see potential for future collaborative projects across the Haberdasher family of schools."

We were also delighted to have a record number of Governors in attendance: 68 of a total of 170

Thank you to all those who presented and took part in the day.

This year we are marking #BlackHistoryMonth by cel This year we are marking #BlackHistoryMonth by celebrating the work of Haberdasher members, students and alumni from each of our four school groups: Haberdashers' Elstree Schools, Haberdashers' West Midlands Academies Trust, Haberdashers' Monmouth School and Haberdashers' Academies Trust South.

Our first spotlight is @tapestry_of_black_britons Paula Hector, @hhcsixthform alumna, from South London. Paula is an artist and historian who has woven together these two areas of expertise to create the Tapestry of Black Britons.

The Haberdashers Company was one of the projects first funders and Paula has been busy leading art creation workshops at Haberdashers’ schools including: Habs Hatcham College, @habscrayfordsixthformcommunity and @habsborough180 , involving the students in bringing history to life.

The tapestry is both literal and metaphorical—celebrating the interconnectedness of British history and asserting that it is incomplete without recognising the deep and enduring contributions of people of African descent. What is more, this living artwork is also a fantastic example of the Company's ancient trade, Haberdashery, and will continue to grow with embroidery, kente, and mixed media embellishments.
